It took years to obtain the property with much support of the City of Knoxville and Knox Heritage. We finally negotiated a reasonably low selling price from the gracious and respectful Mountain River Associates/Gameday Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia to facilitate the process for full renovation by starting off in an effort to save the property. Along with a generous contribution from Shailesh Patel from the Downtown Hampton Inn & Suites next door, the vast patience of Wells Fargo Bank (thanks Laura Ash), a gracious Facade Grant from the CBID, a sturdy loan from the TNbank of Oak Ridge (Tim Holloway IS the best listener in the world), and everything I own, we should be able to at least save the house from demolition/danger of fire and turn it back into a viable, livable, tax producing, historic home instead of the eye sore, vagrant homestead it has been for years.
